Production Process

What Is Production? 

Production is a team that is split into three departments. One of them is pre production, which is where they make the scripts, decides the locations, props, special effects and visual effects. Another one is post-production, they do the editing and they make sure that the sound is ok. The other one is production, which is where they have finished the film and the filming crew would have had to go to all of the locations that they needed for each of the scenes in the movie. 

Genre and style

The Genre of Hot Fuzz is comedy, action, horror and Police drama. The action in the movie is shown with the main Characters Nicholas Angel and Danny Butterman which are both in the police force, during the film they use violence, weapons and there is an explosion deuring the end scene of the film which makes the film have an action Genre. The horror in the film is revealed when we see the murderer that is dressed in a black which is a sterotypical cosrumewhich we will normally see in a horror movie, they also make the scene look dark when the muderer comes and does a lightening flash when he appears to make the scene look scary. They show the comedy in the movie by using 

Editing 

A man named Chris Dickens edited Hot Fuzz. Chris dickens has edited many of Working Title films such as Shaun of the Dead, Paul, Les Miserables and Hot Fuzz. He has also edited the film Slumdog Millionaire and has been working with Working Title since 2003 on editing most of their films. Chris Dickens has been given the following awards:

 

  1. Academy Award for Best Film Editing. 

  2. BAFTA Award for Best Editing.

  3. American Cinema Editors Award. 

Form 

Location: Barn Theatre, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England, UK. 

Costume/Props: Police uniform, hoodies, cow boy uniform, farmer uniform, casual uniform, weapons.

Edgar Wright decided to make the movie in the countryside because most of the police movies are made in the city and he didnt want his movie to be like a typical police drama that you would see made in the city.
