The opening of the movie Hot Fuzz starts with Simon Pegg walking fast into the room with the sound of the clicking of his shoes. In the cop spoof, the idea of this is that Simon Pegg is a police officer named Nicholas Angel that gets moved from his London police department to one in a village Sandford.  Which the town does not have any “crime” which makes this spoof showing police officers laid back eating on the job. This is a typical police drama.

The flashback of Simon Pegg moving departments is showed by a flashback while he is on the train remembering what had happened. This co-written movie by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright (who is also the director of the movie) is contradicting that police do not do their job properly as we see in this movie spoof, where we see the officers in the station always eating to a situation an officer gets themselves into.

Nicholas Angel arrives at a bar in Sandford and is already egger to start his new job as he goes in to the pub for a drink and sees that there are under aged kids in there and starts to kick them out due to him obeying by the law.  After he leaves the pub he almost gets run over by a drunk driver who he puts into jail and we later find out that the man is also a police officer named Danny Butterman (who is played by the hilarious Nick Frost).

During the parts in the movie where the killer shows up we hear a sharp screeching sound that makes gives off an impression that something bad is going to happen soon.  The killer who is dressed in a Halloween costume looks like they took that idea of the costume from scream.  This is like a scene out of a horror movie due to the music that plays when the killer appears with its hood on and disappears with a flash of light.

In the movie the put on a play that is ‘Romeo & Juliet ‘ that is played by Martin Blower (who is played by David Threlfall) that is too old to be playing Romeo due to Romeo, supposed to be a teenager and this man is completely old.  This shows that the village is immature due to them having two people who are older than how the actors are supposed to be. Juliet in the play is played by Eve Draper (who is played by Lucy Punch).
